Hi anyone know how to get their wireless card to work while running ubuntu? Better still if anyone knows how to do this using a dell 1545 it would be great.
Cheers

I've been running Linux for several years now (currently run Linux Mint - which is based on Ubuntu) and have found it picks up all my networking hardware seamlessly. Better than Microripoff. And whenever I have a problem with any software not working I just do a Google search and find the answer quite easily. I'm not sure that this will help you a lot - but I'm sure a search of the Ubuntu forums will.

thanks Casperfelix, i did a bit more searching and found a post that suggest i entered this into the terminal

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic
sudo apt-get install --reinstall bcmwl-kernel-source
sudo modprobe wl

i did and it did the trick. before yesterday i didnt know what a terminal was. i find Ubuntu is much better than MS, it easy to use but can be very nerdy.

cheers

Linux can be a little difficult coming from a MS background but stick with it. Its so much better and for the most part, free.
