To The All Knowing,

I am hoping to use an old net book (compaq mini) for a carry about unit, I came across a unit used just for GPS whilst out in the cuds in January ( being used by a Norwegian Seaweed Researcher). I hope to emulate such a unit ( plus possibly storing photographs) any ideas or information.

Google Linux on compaq mini for best answers.

Try Linux on usb to see if you can get on with it before a full install.

Hello Moses. Long time no hear.

Install Ubuntu, it's a very user friendly version of Linux and comes with Libre Office and Firefox Lots of other software is available free in the software centre.
