Little and Large do Hepworth




Couple of hours work this morning so couldn’t set off till 11am. Julie has been asking me to take her to a Café recommended by a friend who is into the classic car scene. She says its called the Carding Shed an old mill.
A vision of Dunelm or Boundary Mill kept appearing before my eyes. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh !

Anyway my gorgeous wife won the day and I plotted a route in Mrs Sat Nag via the Strines. The route home had some top twisty bits that allowed us to stay under radar . Not too many rice rockets out to kill us on mainly small bumpy roads.

Part of Strines closed for repairs so detour and grand it were past ughill hall







We arrive at me waypoint and oh bugger its closed. Searche a little and quickly found the place. Plenty of parking space.
Well what a surprise and well done Julies friend for telling us. This a top watering hole.









There was a singer called Ms Laura Stimson to entertain us while we scoffed




Sign at the entrance.



Then off toward home the windy way.



We see more cyclists on our route that pocket rockets.






Edale Mountain Rescue out at Stannedge Edge helping the unfortunate.




That’s all folks.
Have no connection with them just thoroughly enjoyed our day trip.

3rd May 2014 IK classics, I think more cars on show and a barbecue.

8th June Vintage Fair.

Like the MG midget with what looks like a Lenham conversion, who owns the cars?will have to take a little trip out there for a look. I like the area round Holmfirth, there are some nice little lanes and it's not as busy as the Peaks.

Ian Kellett looks after them, keeps them in top fettle. There are many more cars not on view.
Will probably return for open day barbecue.
The cafe although full ran like a Swiss watch and food was very good. As you say some lovely roads out that way. Makes for a good trip out.

Thats the back road outside the Yorkshire bridge. Use it all the time when i,am out that way, cracking little road.

as it is more or less a direct scenic route from where I am, to my mates gaff in Lincolnshire, then I will possibly stop off for lunch on Saturday
