Tinterweb says it protects the shock but I can't really see how?

And it's daft being hollow, mine was full of water.

No as in take it off and ride it in the rain, you’ll see how much water it actually deflects

I don’t ride much in the rain unless I’m caught in it of course.

But bike deffo looks sexier without it.
