hi again. fitted a NN led tail light and led side light w5w but now the lampf warning is on. sure i read on here that i need to fit a resistor/capacitor thingy. so..... what size and how?? please help. I am competant at wiring. honest:augie

What power is the bulb you're replacing?

What power is the new bulb?

You need to make up the difference.

There's loads of resistor power calculators on the internet.

And you don't need a capacitor.

replacing 12v 5w capless with 12v 1w led so 4w to make up. cant remember the power triangle from colledge i'll have to dig out me txt books.

if u have any of the solid state indicator units ie kisan etc, u wont need them (just incase u have):thumb

4W at 12V is 330mA, 36 ohms, but I'd try a 47 ohm first, actually I'd try 470 ohm first to see if that works, is it would dissipate less power and not be so hot. Might well be enough to keep the computer happy, 25mA and a half watt resistor would suffice.

cool thanx.so to confirm i req a 470 ohm resistor at 25Ma and 1/2 watt rating.???
