Loading Mapsource onto another PC?

Well a laptop really, I have just bought a new Dell one and I am now in the process of moving everything from my stand alone PC to that, easy job I thought...ha, yea right!

Amongst everything else that has gone wrong during the course of the last 9 hours trying to do it, I have tried to load the Mapsource V6 on it, so that I can then update it with V7.

I have the unlock codes etc from when I first bought the SPIII so I assummed that it would be a easy task. But the laptop wil not run the start up programme?

If even I try start.exe it still wont even open it so that I can start to load it up?

Any ideas?

Nope! Sorry.
I've installed on 3 computers. One my old main desk top PC & 2 laptops. All has gone on smoothly.
The only suggestion is to try uninstalling and try again. Make sure you delete everything "garmin" from the registrys after the uninstal.

Duff CD maybe? My v7 CD would only work in one of the 5 drives I have here

I am a prize tosser...............................................!

Once I remembered that I should put the 'start-up' Cd in first, it loaded up ok .

In my defence, the start-up' CD was in the SPIII box that was in the loft, the Mapsource V6 CD set and the upgrade V7 CD set were both in my CD rack next to the PC. I only found the 'start-up' CD while I was looking for the unlock codes.

I had put it all together for safe keeping..........in the loft of all places?

Still, all's well that ends well I suppose, thanks the replies never the less.
