Loading Routes On A Nuvi 765T ??

Can someone tell me how to load routes onto a NuviI 765T that have been created on Mapsource or ITN converter ??#

If its owt like the missus's Nuvi 3760 then you can't (or I cant?). Seems it can only plot routes on the device and then in a limited fashion ie if you want to include via points as each new leg requires input to get it started. I have managed to upload waypoints but imported routes just dont appear :/
Others may have better luck/tips for you.

As said maybe you can't, with a nuvi 550 you send the routes then go into the file menu and import the routes...

It can be done, one of the members Bumpkin knows how to do it, he's not a subscriber though, so I can't pm him.

Save the route as a GPX file (Mapsource - Save As and select GPX before saving, ITN Converter - Save as GPX format). Save this to either the device internal memory or the SD card, into the \\Garmin\GPX folder (if there isn't one create one). Then load the route using the menus on the Nuvi - Tools > scroll down > My Data > Import Route from File. You then select the route by Tools > scroll down > Custom Routes and then select the route you want.

You can have only 10 routes in the Custom Routes menu but you can store as many as you like on the card or in the internal memory and load them as you need them.

Works like a charm, used on Euro tour and on plenty of rides in the UK

I got some info off the web today, that said that the Nuvi's software will not follow the specific route created on Mapsource or ITN converter, it will just re-route using the fastest route to the next waypoint ??

Can you confirm that, or have you found that it follows the rroute you planned ??

I have heard that Garmin are fed up of not getting away with charging gullible bikers top dollar for Zumos and have knobbled the ability of more recent Nuvis to do this. Maybe I'll shut-up extolling the virtues of the 765 if they give me a free Zumo 660

I live in fear of them changing the firmware on the 765 to do similar but I figure that they would be exposing themselves to serious criticism if they did. I haven't checked for firmware updates recently though.

Plenty of the lesser TomToms can follow ITN routes ISTR.

The Nuvi 765T follows the routes as planned though I'm careful to add sufficient navigation nodes (dragged out points in Mapsource rather that actual way-points) to ensure that it does. This means maybe 10 to 15 nodes on a full days ride. I reality no more than I have to add to get Mapsource to follow the route and no more than I had to with my trusty old StreetPilot 2720.
