Lock wafers & Springs loan kit

I have accumulated a few of the wafers and springs for BMW GS and RT locks.

I propose that this be made available to forum users, and they replenish with any spare wafers they dont need.

Also if anyone has any old locks that they can send me, Ill use them as spares for the stock.

You can request the kit, wit home made lock removal tools (used on RT panniers when bought some with no key after the chap had his bike stolen in London) or just the number of wafers you need and Ill send them out. Once finished, you send the kit and any spare wafers back. If you are local to Durham I can even help you code and fit to your bike/key.

This service will only work if we all chip in old wafers or locks, and will be on an honesty basis.

Today I have sent out two orders for #3s (one of nine and one of 14) so the #3s seem to be in demand.

So far I have managed to help three fellow Tossers, but the supplies of new 1200 series on wafers is dwindling so if anyone wants to donate it would be appreciated.
We are also building up a selection of the 1100 series wafers, but not yet enough to offer a full set.
PM me for information on what I have and I can send them out, with or without springs etc.

Do you want some spare wafers, I've got some from different BMW locks that don't fit the GS1150 pannier and some spare GS wafers.

I think I've only got 4 wafers fitted to my panniers as didn't have the correct No for the 5th slot.

Great idea well done that man. I have a R1150GS Adventure top box that is locked any idea how to get in to pull the locks other than drill them out and replace ?

Many thanks Wobble, another very pleased customer. Great service and saved me a lot of money and hassle.

I made a contribution towards running the service £10 plus a couple of Beer tokens for Wobble when I returned my spare wafers. He obviously does this in his spare time and at his cost.

Fingers crossed he can keep it going for the foreseeable future.

Hi @Wobble I’ve got a vario top box on the way for my 1300gs. Would this kit be the same wafers do you know? I’ll need to recode the lock so if it is was hoping I could borrow the kit next pls? Thanks
 
I’m sorry, dont have any ideas on the 1300 front as only have a 1250, perhaps a grown up will be along soon.

Normally, you ask for the right number of wafers and I send them, then you send the old ones back, this means I can help more than one person at a time and also saves postage and given the ability of Royal Mail to have items go missing means we keep the kit in one piece.

If you are anywhere near Durham, you can call in and we can sort it out.

Hi @Wobble could I swap a 1 for a 3 please? Was fairly lucky so only need the one!
 
After the rising number of toxic comments on the forum, I have contacted the admins and wont be resubscribing in September.

Accordingly, if anyone wants to be the custodian of the wafer kit and is happy to hold on to them and send them out to other members, please post below and then I will send them to you. I offered it as a free service, but I was blown away by the generosity of the many members who donated to help cover postage.

The kit comprises a plastic box with many wafters and spare bits and bobs along with spare springs etc.

Thanks to those of you who sent me wafers and spares.
