Lockable oil can leaking

Bloody thing leaking oil , anybody else had the problem or found a solution, touratech say send it back for a replacement.
Time is the only issue with that how longs that going to take.
This is the type I have.

Have you checked the o-ring around the plactic boss which stays in the head when you take out the plug? They come with the filter, important to change too.
 
I have the same thing! Bloody oil all over my left boot, dirt all over right!
I've toyed with putting the original back in, my locakable looks a bit different to yours pictured though.
Very difficult to get in in the first place, and now it leaks everywhere.... :confused:

It's only been in for the last 500 miles , the o ring is mint although seems a little loose/ oversized compared to the BMW one , thinking about swapping the rings round but really should not have too.

Its tight fitting the cap anyway and get a worry on when inserting with the key in it and snapping the key.
 
Bob that is the later version. You need to use the O ring from the BMW plastic one.

My earlier version seized up solid. I had to take it to bits and then lost the bits. TT supplied a replacement like yours by return of post. The instructions were to use the OE cap ring.

Mine no problems since then.

100Wattwarlock. If you have the earlier version and it is difficult to remove etc. there is a known fault. TT should replace it for you.

I used the original O ring on the new oil cap, no problems :thumb
 
Same problem here, I'm going to put the original back!!
