Did anyone of you experience locked up brakes when pulling the CLUTCH?

There are two reports about locked up brakes when pulling the CLUTCH, one is at www.advrider.com (US) and one is at www.boxer-forum.de (Germany).

(1) “As soon as I pulled in the clutch, the bike wheels immediately locked up tight (No signs on the dash saying anything was wrong). After shutting the bike off and waiting about 2 minutes the bike would freely roll again.”

(2) "Kupplung gezogen, und der Bock macht eine Vollbremsung (beide Räder haben voll blockiert)"

Translation: Pulling the clutch both wheels blocked.

I am interessed if anyone else suffered from this kind of failure.

Please stop this it's making me nervous, I'm off around Europe at the weekend.

I haven't & don't see a link in the system that can cause it, as its a straight forward hydraulic clutch. Was testing my brakes on mot brake tester yesterday & they will pull 50% & 40% before lockup with engine off & no servo assist' pass is (30% & 25 %) min so brakes will pass mot even with servo failed

Yes. These Integral Brakes definitly pass mot with the residual brakes! Everybody knows that for sure. It's the same with the SBC Brakes of Mercedes, they have failures, too, and they pass mot with residual brakes. In Germany there have been 'minor crashes' reported with the SBC Brakes.

Again my question to the public, why is Mercedes initiating a recall because of the SBC brakes on cars, and BMW dosn't feel to do so because of the Integral Brakes on motorbikes? Are these brake failures more easy to handle on bikes? How come?

Remember: In the German motorbike magazin TOURENFAHRER No. 2/2005 (01/20/2005) page 72 – 76 press officer Mr. Jürgen Stoffregen of BMW MOTORRAD declares in an interview, that they had 21 failing servos worldwide (this is no longer the real number and for me never has been real !!!). He also declares, there have been some hundreds of cases where the consumers complained, but no errors were found, or errors were found, but the consumers did not complain. He frankly is saying, that they won't make any more specific statement in this issue of brake failures.

I definitly think Mercedes is going the right way and caring both for security and quality as a premium manufacturer. I really do have *NO EXPLANATION* why BMW dosn't feel to do the same.
