Locking front driving/fog lights position

Any one found a way of locking front driving/fog lights in position. Have tried tightening as much as poss but still seem to move at the slightest tap making them ineffective, point down dim or up blinding. Or any combination of the two...
These are the BMW ones on the beak of a standard GS not the ADV version.

Sounds like you might need a washer or 2 under the nut.
