BMW sell solid pushrods to replace the hollow tubes with the loose fitting ends

Yeah I know but having a fairly well equipped machine shop and some 10mm ally rod it's good fun and a whole lot cheaper to make them and fit the ends with more interference.

Had a good listen to mine today, and what I thought was the timing chain may be the pushrods in question.....tappets adjusted and LH cam chain mod done......winter job to do the pushrods I think. That's what I like about this 1150gs, it's a pleasure to work on. It's taken a while, but I'm really settling into it nicely.
