As a matter of interest . . .

There is a comment in the October BMW Club Journal about the Log Cabin Hotel being sold (or, is in course of being sold).

Anyone know what's going on ?

Are we likely to lose it as a bike-friendly venue ?

I was passing through on Monday and saw a sign advertising The Log Cabin in the village. It had a "CLOSED" sign covering it.

The Edelweiss Hotel and then The Log Cabin (as it became) has had a long history of opening and closing it's doors.

Personally, the smell of the burning log fire and the overpowering permanent smell of pine wood put me off the place.

I had a few good nights at the Edelweiss in the 70's mind you. I remember when it was all fields...

The Log Cabin is indeed closed.
At the September BMWC Lunch Meet, Wendy announced that they were closing that very night.
The place was up for sale, but not sold. They were just needing to get away.
Whoever buys the place will need to do a good bit of work (leaking roofs etc) before re-opening.
As a result, the BMWC is "homeless" as far as Lunch Meets go.
(Bob, I've arranged for the Meet to go ahead at Katie's Tearoom, Birnam, as of 11th november).
