Cashed in my Festive virgin voucher, and off we toddled today down to the big smoke.
Two and half hours driving down the A11 M11….city awaits

Straight to Westfield Stratford Car Park to abandon the motor and onto the DLR, to Cutty Sark… driverless trains, witchcraft.

My voucher was a City Cruise, hop-on hop-off thing so we took the journey to Westminster.
Nice pint of London Pride, observed the VE Day 2-minutes silence with German students and teachers on the vessel.
Passing along the Thames I saw out namesakes area, and my old digs in Wapping and the amazing pub that is Prospect of Whitby

Then we passed under one of several bridges..

Good to see a D-Day veteran in the shape of HMS Belfast

Finally the big wheel as we berthed at Westminster

Then we set off in a mile yomp up Whitehall, salute the cenotaph and onto tea and cake and glass of
at Soho Wala

Central line East to Stratford (trains underground? More witchcraft) and drive home. 11 hours door to door, but nice to be away from home!
