London Bus Lanes - URGENT ACTION needed by you

As a regular avoider of London, I feel there is more to be gained by just nuking the place, apparently it would remove a sizeable portion of illegal immigrants too :bounce1:bounce1 Everyones a winner, place will be under water soon anyways.....:cool

I think I'm the only cyclist in London that uses hand signals....

Clearly not!

Moved to a place it won't disappear off the front page for a while and stickied :thumb2

Oh, and bounced :)

register as a cyclist that supports motorcycles using bus lanes. That'll feck the cyclist lobby.

I am now a motorcycling commuter to Holborn who also rides a pushbike (forgot to tell em i work permanent nights):augie

Nice one everyone.
Every bit helps. I did actually sign up as a bicyclist who rides a motorcycle in London too. Made sense. Most London cyclists I know don't seen to mind we MC types being in the bus lane - it's the activists who seem to have the loud voice though. Ain't that always the case! ? In the end, it's like everything else in life should be. A bit of respect and consideration goes a hell of a long way.
See you guys at the Ace?
Cheers,
Sam

Bus lane

Nice one steptoe, i just completed the survey as a cyclist.

One thing i do find amazing is the amount of oil in the bus lanes, surley bus companies should have some kind of responsibilty for cleaning these lanes on a regular basis.

Been doing london commute for 7 years and still staggered at how some of our biking community behave like c**ts, no consideration for other bikers let alone other vehicles.

Not that i condone aggresive behavour but my flip lid allows me to express my feelings. I am the altermate victor ..

Oh, a whilst i am on my soap box feck the fecking scooters and the girls in there saddles. no i've got to stop this.

Peace and love to all feckers.....

Yep, agree with all of that (except the wired for sound bit :D)

I think I'm the only cyclist in London that uses hand signals, looks behind him and obeys red lights in London. They don't do themselves any favours, do they?

+1 to the above!! :thumb

As a London motorcyclist, motorist and (law abiding) :bow cyclist I will be signing the cyclist petition.

Being able to ride the GS in bus lanes would do little to improve most of GS journey times – indeed going down the middle is often preferable to getting stuck behind a rolling red routebendyfumebelcher or whatever they are called these days.

The provision of a place where socially and environmentally aware citizens of large busy cities can ride their economically advantageous modes of transport is a boon to their safety and the respiratory airways of the rest of you selfish barstewards (IMHO).

So – you can all fek off – I’m going to tell all my cyclist pals to sign for the pushbikes – so there :green gri

questionnaire

Just completed it. Lets hope this practice gets adopted everywhere across the UK... (you mean we wern't allowed to do this before? :blast )

cyclists are cheeky feckers, they should remember that they are only guests in the BUS LANES, they are not cycle lanes. Pay road tax or feck off

Didn't use to work in the diplomatic corp by chance!!!:bounce1

Form completed as cyclist in favour of motorcycles in bus lane:thumb:thumb:thumb

Bus lanes

Done it.

I drive a hgv in and around London total length 52.3, 40t having a push bike under taking is bad enough, but a motor cyclist is even worse cabies are not so bad but they try.

I can only say, it will stop you guys nipping down the outside, then cutting in as I am about to move up in the standing traffic so to move out the way of the lorry coming the other way.

But please watch your speed, pedestrians crossing from the other side running through standing traffic and yes BUS RED ones and those with tour and National on them and last but not forgotten white van man.

Be safe

New to this part of the site but been riding a motorbike to London for the last 8 years as a daily commute. I dont mind your every day cyclist. Those that obey even the basic rules of the road get my vote but I have to say, its the lycra louts that do it for me. I dont know how many get killed or injured on the roads of London each year but I have seen a few that must have come pretty close in their time??

Personally, I think that the red lights are there for a pretty good reason and far too many lycra's ignore them totally - I sat at the lights near Harrods (going into Victoria direction) during the recent twenty years (or so it seemed) of construction and watched two cyclists coming across the cross roads in opposite directions both hurtle through the lights - and hit each other, hilarious. It was even funnier to watch the two motorbike feds sat next to me look at each other and shake their heads!

Use of the bus lanes is an option that is useful and in the main, increases safety so I am all for it

cheers and thanks for letting us know about the site, will go and fill in now!

Dave

I just found this petition thingy filled it in, still relevent, personnelly i think it should be in general forums so more people notice it, id hate to see the bus lanes revert back in 6 months time, so if you've filled it in fill it in again, makes my jobas a despatch rider much safer, although i did get twatted by an undercover police car who cut across the outside lane of standing traffic and caught my back end as i was merrily going up the bus lane, which wouldn't of happened if bus lane was off limits,as i would of been on the outside of the stationary traffic, but don't tell them that :augie

Just seen this, so filled it in.

The sad fact about your average cyclist is that the trial is very likely to make them safer too, but as they aren't generally the sharpest of tools they won't see this, so will just vote out of spite, keeping everyone worse off.
