Same deal as the steak evening, one bill, divide it evenly, irrespective.

10 people, though I’ll see if I can get it up to 12. First come, first served and then a reserve list.

Possibly an Italian at Il Bordello, as I am pretty sure they can fit us all in I if I book it up early enough.

The steak evening was in April, so a revolving six months would seem not too bad an idea. Then have the ad-hoc get togethers in between, which anyone and everyone is free to arrange. The next of these is Grant’s curry night. EV’s done his, Arsey his, Grant, too.

It’s a free world for anyone else….. anywhere (near enough) within the Oyster card zone, which has meant the chance of exotic travel to: London E1, Watford Junction and Hounslow.

UPDATE.... IMPORTANT..... Important....

I have made the reservation for 10 people over the phone. Not surprisingly, given how busy the restaurant usually gets, they need a £10 deposit per person.

In good faith, I will pay the £100 to get us in the book properly but I don't want to then be lumbered with "Sorry mate, no can do....." or some such.

I ask please:

A. That those who have said "yes" (six plus me so far) send my their £10 via PayPal ASAP. That clears that up.

B. Then, if they cannot go they either forfeit it (it'll hardly be life changing, as it's less than two pints of London Pride) or they recover the sum from whoever takes their place. In other words, I am not going to be chasing your money.

If everyone is happy with this proposal I will go to the restaurant to pay the £100 tomorrow evening, 01 May.

Same applies to the three spare places, whose £30 I will fund in the interim.

Let me know before 18:30 tomorrow, please.

If it doesn't work, I'll simply scrap the idea in its entirety.

Understood.

Not teaching you how to suck eggs, but do make sure to acquire
a copy of the receipt or emailed version of the booking confirmation for the value of the deposit.
I am assuming the held by the restaurant deposit, will be knocked off the final bill?

Couldn't you get one of your underwriter chums to cover you from any financial exposure?
