Long journey on an 06 GS?

Dont go out the door encase aliens come down from outer space and invade earth ffs:blast

Seriously.....The blokes on push bike forums are ten times worse......They shit themseves over finding brake pads in (surprise surprise) Outer Mongolia......:D

Right, here's my advice before your big trip:

Get the FD rebuilt by Mikeyboy. Better to be safe than sorry as you won't be able to change a bearing in a yurt on the steppes.
Complete service with new OEM filters and all oils changed.
Thoroughly clean brakes, fit new brake pads all round and fresh brake fluid.
New Heidenau K60's or Mitas E07 tyres
Pack only what you really need.
Fill bike with fuel and head East.

You and the bike will fine.

The FD overhaul complete with delivery to Mike and back home will cost a few pennies but it's 2-1/2p compared to the cost of a round the world bike ride. But if the bike is low mileage just fill and go.
