its to replace my dl650. The xtz is a bit slower and heavier i know... but look at it man! ill be wanting to cross deserts and stuff by the end of the week im sure :) Its old but gold.

That's what I was going to recommend to Caravan Monster. Better let him know you'll be flogging it in a few days...:D

Nice one. :thumb2

I always fancied one of them myself, but for some reason never got around to it.

That colour scheme is one of the the best ,I reckon. :beerjug:

It was the colour scheme that won it for me. And he says he had all the panels resprayed last year to like new condition. Pillion seat doesnt look like itll be winning me any awards from the mrs. But .. pah.. its not my arse sitting on it so what do i care :augie

I just think it looks awesome. Nuff said.

Got to get that dl650 out of the garage now!

hmmmmm

is it a 5 speed or a 4 and a half??? :nenau

Looks nice my only advice would be if the box IS good just do regular oil changes and be mechanically sympathetic and it'll be fine

the only real fault excluding regulator rectifiers but that's pretty normal for rice burners :aidan

Health to ride!

Cheers Jaythro, ive give that a major looksee. Are the gearboxs a problem on these then? ive not really looked into them yet.

side play on the crank is a regular, done about 5 like this,

*FINGERS IN EARS* la la la im not listening ... :aidan

im sure itll be fine.

He has cared enough about it to restore it to this condition and it comes with reciepts for new rear disk and pads, braided lines, fork seals, headrace bearings, rear shock, oil tank, battery, airbox and rubbers, new needle jets and needles.

So its had some work. Fingers crossed itll be good for a while :)

yes she keeps her bush well trimmed ;) :drool

Well ive been out on a long ride on it. Good god its got to be the most uncomfortable bike ever created. After 20 miles i thought my arse bone was being pushed up through my spine. A seat rebuild with gel pad is a definete!

Otherwise i quite like it, its a little slow but the suspension is really supple and i think itll be a fun offroad tool. WR400 forks are on order for the front and a wheel rebuild on the back will be done shortly.

Exhaust is whisper quiet, despite being an aftermarket can. So something needs to be done with that.

Otherwise i just need to get my hepco gobis on there, fook me the carriers are pricey though. £200 just for the brackets!

Overall though, im pleased. Its old school cool and i love it! :D

Looks lovely fella :thumb2
as already mentioned though i will keep an eye in the for sale section in around 4 weeks :P

cheers lads :)

Im doing the viking way on it this weekend. Try out its offroad prowess and all that.

Just needs a set of luggage on it and im ready for an offroad adventure tour! Cant believe the price of pannier mounts for it though. £250!!!!!

Handy thing for it is, spares seem to be sooo cheap. The tachos bust (a common problem apparently) and a set of clocks was £15! from a breakers yard no less.

Is there any way to get white plastics looking... white again. Its gone a little creamy coloured in places where the suns had it. Any ideas anyone?
