Welcome to the site. You will be glad you joined. I suspect that if you look at the for sale section here there may be a few bikes in your budget range that will have less than 70,000 miles. Make sure you get a good service history and look at corrosion on front of engine and lower fork legs.

Spend £12 to subscribe (best £12 you'll ever spend)

Put the kettle on.

Spend a few hours (or Days) having a good look around the site and get a feel for the place and the bike.

Keep your eye on the for sale section, remember some bikes that come up for sale can be traced back on this site since they were new.

I f you buy from a fellow Tosser (do a search for the origin of the word tosser) the chances are you'll know exactly what your buying.

Don't be put off by the 1100 v 1150 v 1200 arguments,it's all just banter they're all great bikes and everybody knows the 1200 is far superior:augie

Be patient, the bike for you will surface and good luck with your search.

Steve

Cool, done just that, now to decide on a 650 vs 1100 (or upwards) before my 3 month trek around Europe........

If your trekking you may want to try and go for one of the bigger GS's to eat up the miles, nothing against the smaller bikes-they're great, just a little vibey over distance. Just my humble opinion of course! PS. GS's are the best bikes on the road, 1200's especially:hide!
