Just in case folks are wondering where Part 2 went I put it unto the bottom of the Part 1 post.

The campsite was in a great position looking over Loch Bay and further to Loch Dunvegan. I had never been to this area before and I have to say I was totally impressed by its beauty. The Stein Inn is an 18th Century Inn and the oldest on Skye.

The camp site.

Unfortunately there was ‘no room at the Inn’ for me and Mzokk and being camping phobic we opted for the bunkhouse at the Dunvegan Hotel nearby, organised by OONYACK. Thanks Johnny.

There was an amazing sunset outside The Stein which I think almost everyone photographed. Some pics.

After the usual adjournment to the bar for a few hours Mzokk and I decided to retire to our castle by the shore about 1220am.

A fantastic night was had by all and we are all wondering when the next one is Johnny.

We breakfasted at the Dunvegan Hotel right beside the bunkhouse and left for Stranraer.

Mzokk decided to take another route which turned out to be a first for me on some new roads not to mention new ferries.
We headed down Glen Arroch and on to the Kylrhea ferry.

This little ferry took me by surprise with its swivelling deck to board the vehicles. The last of its kind apparently.

A couple of pics.

A shot from on board looking from our first class cabin across Glenelg Bay.
The high ground on the far horizon is the end of the Knoydart Peninsula. It is bordered to the North by Loch Hourn and to the South by Loch Nevis.

It is one of the last remaining wilderness areas of Scotland simply because of its inaccessibility by road.

Once we cross to Mainland Scotland again we headed East up Glenelg through the Ratagan Forest to Shiel Bridge.

We pic looking up Glenelg.

This one taken looking across towards the Five Sisters of Kintail.

From Shiel Bridge we enjoyed the sweeping turns of the A87 to Invergarry, another favourite. Although I am reliably informed by Mzokk to enjoy it ‘properly’, you really need a GSXR 1000 or equivalent.

Havn’t had the privilege yet but hope to, before I am too much older.

From here we headed south towards Fort William on the A82 but cut off towards Gairlochy on the B8005 which was a lot of fun.

From Banavie we headed out on the A830 towards Mallaig. This is a truly great stretch of road as most of you will know. At Inverailort we cut south again on the A861 towards Ardmolich. Another great road which afforded excellent views towards the Black Cuillen Ridge of Skye.

Found this little gem at an undisclosed location. It was every inch, the wee archetypical remote Scottish cottage we all imagine. Albeit it needed a wee bit of work to bring it back to its former glory.

The run along Loch Sunart was one of the most enjoyable winding stretches of A road I have enjoyed in a long while. We ended up at Corran for the short ferry to the A82 near Onich. As we approached we had a fine view up Glencoe.

From here it was south on the A828 towards Oban but cutting short towards Inverary. From Inverary it was over the rest and be thankful and on towards the A82 towards Glasgow.

Once over the Erskine Bridge we returned to Stranraer on a similar route as on our arrival. We kept to the coastline which afforded us some nice views over Ailsa Craig and Aran Island.

The mileages for the three days panned out about
370 – day 1
380 – day 2
400 - day 3
1150 all in.

Well that was the end of our little trip to OONYACKS party … kina LWR.

The party has faded and gone now but the memories of a great get together and biking days with great biking Kameraden will never die … thanks Folks.

Admit it, Alte. You're angling for a job with the Scottish Tourist Board. :D

Great photos of what was obviously a great trip. Some dodgy company in there mind you :thumb

Go on ye bugger ye. There's that damned bar raised again. :D :D

Great report again Alte. Thanks. :clap

Can't remember cudling up to Stray Puss in the pub :D

THanks folks,

Wee border ... I use Corel Photopaint for re sizing/re sampling. After that I use the Image/Paper Size option.

By extending it slightly beyond the re sized image, e.g if you re size to say 900 X 598 pixels, make paper size 910 X 608 pixels for 10 pixel border. (more or less pixels if required)

Then simply make it the colour you want from the colour picker.

The new paper size appears behind the image giving the impression of a coloured border.

Cheers :beerjug:
