Anyone aware of current discounts ? Looking at TE with wire wheels and vario panniers, dealer wouldnt budge, just wondered if anyone had heard of current/future discounts ?

RBW.

Huge discounts . Bikes available now. Expect 10% with haggle and you have to be prepared to walk and throw your toys out of the cot.....politely.

I'm surprised to see dealers giving a 10% discount on a new bike, on all my previous purchases the on the road brochure price was the selling price, cash sale or part exchange. The flexibility the dealer had was
Free 600m service.
Free or discounted service plan.
Free Gap insurance.
Free or discounted accessories.
The big flexibility is overdoing the part ex, this will not show up as a discount in the accounts.

If you are getting 10% discount off the on the road price £11650 for basic bike (ie £1165 off) this is would be a massive discount off the actual £9412 cost of the bike before OTR charges and VAT, and would probably be a total loss to the dealer.

I think this is total bullshit

Post the invoice on a new GS and I will gladly apologize if you got 10%

Now I thought I could haggle a bit in my past life, but tried 3 separate dealers (whom I've purchased cars &/or bikes from previously) but even with trade in they were all within £100 of each other, got mine from Pidcocks in the end, really had to as Wayne had been so accommodating in the past, road tests etc, etc... A sweetener to top the deal.. They did me an ok price on some Halverstones clothing at their Honda/Triumph dealership, the parts guy knows his stuff.. (it helped rolling up on one of their BMWs)
BUT, I must say Astle's Laceby BMW are sharpening their game, new staff & competively priced at the minute. (might be best to roll up to see what they've got)
But love the WC at the minute..

I just got an additional part ex allowance (listed separately on the invoice) and it didn't matter whether I took a TE out of the showroom or a custom-built base model straight from the factory.

How do you know - you got an extra part-ex allowance? Was there a value against a different bike?

Al

There's a line item stating the part ex value of the bike (from the Glass's guide) and then a separate line item stating special part ex allowance. It's a common way to discount a new bike without officially discounting the RRP.

These values were the same whether I took a TE from the showroom or a standard model (with the options I wanted) ordered from the factory.

I have always been given more than the Glass's guide on every bike I have p/x

But was your special discount 10% of the new bike?

Not much discount availible on the Gsa at the moment strong demand i got offered discount on accessories and a fair px above classes guide

Similar story here, I got offered a generous part ex allowance on my bike and a very good offer for my luggage/accessories and a good discount on accessories/luggage for a new GSA, 3 weeks ago my dealers were quoting April delivery on a new GSA now it's late June/early July so demand seems to be high.

You don't want to buy new, mines up for sale. Grey TE, cross spokes, akra, crud catcher, under 3,500 miles immaculate condition. Save on the depreciation game.

Reading this thread, I feel I got quite a deal.

It may have helped that I'm a returning customer................. not sure ?

Originally they wanted my bike and 3K for a new TE................. Got them down to my bike plus £2200 with factory lowered suspension.

Do you fancy doing a swap plus cash for your wheels??
