Started reading a crime thriller book by a SA author who used to work for Motorrad. So in each book, a bike features...A BMW obviously..Then he made a movie and the main character steals a 1250GS with 719 option mirrors..All good, but to me it really does not sound like a twin. Its off putting! Anyone able to verify my thoughts? I think its an XR.... Free scene here at 39 minutes unless you want to watch the whole 90 minute film of "The heart of the hunter" on Netflix...https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x93jjqm.

Not sure… Which are you thinking, XR250 or 400..? 😉

All the sound effects usually get added afterwards. Goes for cars, bikes, doors, footsteps, rain... Etc etc

Any films I've watched with motorcycles in it, the sound effects of the bike are always awful. An example would be a four stroke bike with a 2 stroke sound 😅. Don't ask me for specifics as I won't remember and in the whole scheme of things it's not that important to me or the plot of the film 😃

Ive seen a film where a jet aircraft fires up and sounded like a sopwith camel,

99% of sound in films is added after, it's an entire discipline called Foley.

Bikes and cars are almost never right and usually WAY off, both in terms of the engine but also what the vehicle is doing.

All the bikes (notably the RTs) in the Italian Job remake.
