Loose side stand?

My side stand looks loose and there doesn't seem to a nut on the end of the bolt - just a "u shaped clip wire thingy" (technical term!) and there is a 4-5mm of play with the "cuts the engine when stand is down thingy" (another technical term) which is also able to move around a scary amount although doesn't look in danger of falling off.

So, is that normal or is it missing a nut? Or should I move the "u shaped clip wire thingy" closer so there is less give in it?

if it really bothers you,you can buy the spacers and bushes to refurb it.

I wouldn't bother. I did that last month on my GSA and probably eliminated about 1mm of sideplay from the stand arm. Not worth the effort and expense.
