loss of rear brake ??

this has happened twice now and dont understand why set of on a ride around tt coarse brakes are fine then all of a sudden go for the rear brake and the pedal hits the stop with no brake at all, stop and look at it, set of and it works again, fluid level is good anyone had this fun experiance happen to them cos my arse cant take it again ??

What modelof bike ???

Why not post it in the technical section instead of the GS modification section

Unless you've modified your bike by riding into a tree due to not having as rear brake In which case post some pictures - in the correct section of course, the "show us your GS" thread in the picture section.

Suggest changing your brake fluid. Fluid absorbs moisture with age and prolonged hard braking will cause the fluid to boil and all brake pressure will be lost. You probably found that brake pressure returned when things cooled down but it will happen again if the fluid is not renewed. Remember the same can happen with the front brakes.
