Lost audio on 550 but BT OK

The audio o/p on my 550 has died - that's no sound via the car mount speaker nor via the 3.5mm socket of the bike mount. Bluetooth audio still works.

Any suggestions?

This happened to me yesterday. Lost audio in the middle of a trip, gps was on the car mount. Back at home I carefully cleaned the contacts on the bottom of the GPS, and on the mount, with a cotton wool bud and some contact cleaner. Audio returned immediately.

YMMV!

I always keep some Vaseline with me on trips (steady boys), apply a little after every heavy bout of rain.

Now I need someone with a functioning cradle just to be sure it's not the accessories that's fooked...

Any volunteers? (The closer the better naturally haha)

I haven't found another cradle yet, but I tried some headphones in the audio socket of the bike cradle and .... there's audio!

I think the speaker might have blown in the car cradle - I'll have a look and will let you know

I think I traced my problem to a s/w or setup fault. I can't quite remember what I did (to cause the problem) but it was some variation on pairing a BT phone with the Zumo in the car and the way that I achieved the pairing.

I don't think that the problem has re-occured.

If you haven't resolved this when we do the 'Workshop', then I'll bring my mount with me.

I don't have a Zumo but ISTR reading elsewhere that there's a separate volume control buried in menus for the output via the mount/pins. Worth a check.
