Lost in Europe

Hi all! I finally sold the CBR and got myself a shiny new F650GS:

( tried to attach a photo there but doesn't seem to work :( here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/19116865@N00/2753229200)

Thanks to SiJohnston for all his help in locating the bike and starting negotiations - you have your "free ride on a F650GS" voucher to claim yet mate :)

Mb

happy days! no thanks needed, although i might just redeem that voucher at the Ulster Grand Prix this weekend if you're down at it. Nice bike fella and looking forward to following it on many excursions to come ;);)

shiny-side up...:beerjug:as they say.

Looks like a great trip Si, very jealous. And some great pix.

Wondering if the suit/helmet/bike combo are a little over colour-coordinated though ;)

How did the Rev'It suit hold up in the rain?

I was in Si's house on Saturday night and he even has a matching hoover!

Apparently SW Motech are making him a custom carrier for the pillion seat...

Fearing David might attempt such a prank, allow me to demythologise his lies. Firstly, that is not my house. Secondly, my hoover is a red and black Henry Adventure model (bigger tank). Finally, I took a photo of David taking a photo of this hoover...
Say David, is that mustard on your shirt???

Hey Si,

Remember that camp site at the bottom of the Stelvio ... think I said to I'd camped there before. This photo was 2005...on the same plot where we were. But note, again, the quality boxer engine I was riding....none of those parallel twins in site.

later mate,

gordo'

Sitting...

here on an awful dull grey day this made brilliant and inspiring reading. Thanks for taking the effort to report your travels and I look forward to future reports of this years adventures.
Not having been there for a few years I am off to the TT in June but hopefully later on in the year I will manage to at least get over to France and do my own small expedition. You just cannot beat the roads abroad and the respect everyone shows to Bikers.
Oh yes and by the way I did spot your mate is one of the members of Boys Own !

A simply outstanding tour report and just shows how impressive the GS800 is.

Thanks for sharing
Jeremy

Yep, with the first of a new model teething troubles out of the way, it'll be a wonderful bike! I don't use that plate when at home. Sorry for the delay in replying, just saw that you'd posted this :(
