Lost the route select tool from basecamp

Running basecamp 4.3.3.

the arrow (select tool) that allows you to edit a route after basecamp calculated it from the origin to destination has vanished from the tool bar. The arrow can still be seen in the Tools menu, but clicking on the arrow and then the routes doesn't do anything.

any ideas ?

I rarely used that function and the update is IMO a bit shit but i think from memory you have to highlight the route before that tool works

sorry my fault, the tool i needs is the pencil with a plus sign, which is still there and works fine. Just me having a bad day with basecamp......
