My 2003 1150RT had a decently loud horn, but my 2013 1200RT has something that has come from a Fisher Price toy car. I would love to fit a decently loud one that isn't a set of air horns playing the Duke's of Hazzard etc.

Options:

1. Where would a get such a thing and has anyone done this?
2. get a life Puggy and stop being so pathetically sad

Thoughts?

FWIW the early 1200RT's (2005) had a really good loud twin horn set-up, no idea why bmw dropped it for the present fit, might be worth looking for a earlier set up?

Got a Stebel magnum for my GSA, hugely disappointing, then got a Stebel nautilus, now have them both connected, a bit like a ships fog horn, people certainly know that I am there. Nippy Normans.

My 2007 had gone to the "one single horn that just peeps" set-up, but in fact the wiring was still present to retro-fit the 205 horns, so on the 6,000 Service that's what the dealer did. I don't know if that wiring is still present on models later than 2007.

1. Too easy
2. What's the fun in that? There would never be any new posts at all...

I will look at the Stebeil Nautilus - with a great name like that has to be worth a punt!

If fitting a Nautilus it's possible to split the horn bit from the compressor gubbins so with a length of tubing bobs your uncle :rob
Search is still worth a view :thumb2

If you have decent wiring skills the twin horn set up can be fitted to the 2010 (twin cam) bike. You will need a couple of plugs from your bmw dealer and a wired socket adaptor from Nippy Normans.
The BMW Plugs are part number B61.13.8.365.340. Housing c/w B61.13.0.005.199. Contact. Cost about £13. The bit from Nippy Normans is expensive at around £14. Then as well as the horns you will need about a metre of suitable wire and some loom braiding to make a proffessional job.
Unlike some of the "after market" fog horn high current drawing blasters you won't need to incorporate a relay and they do sound great.

I have just bought a nautilus from a friend who had it fitted on his RT, he now has a K so it's now waiting to be fitted to my bike in the coming weeks.
