I went into a louis store in Bielefeld last year whilst trogging across the continent and bought some kit. It was decent and well priced.

So I am faffing about last week searching online for stuff, and I remembered the store and found them online at www.louis.de

I ordered a backrest for my Krauser top box, and a pair of aftermarket indicators for project GSX600f, as well as one internal pannier bag for the Krauser.
This was last Thursday. The box arrived today, with a note saying sorry we didnt have the pannier bag, it will be in stock and despatched at no extra charge in 2 weeks time.
And by the way, here is a full printout of all the items specific to your bike kept by louis.de in stock.

And delivery from Germany was only 9.95 Euro for anything up to 30kgs!

I am well impressed with the service and the price and the fact that the website is also in English (just click the UK flag!)

No tie in with this vendor at all, just a satisfied customer.

I 've bought all my rukka gear, two pairs of daytonas and a couple of pairs of gloves from them and delivery has always been prompt.Recommend you register with them (free) and wait for their 25% off vouchers (any item) which get sent out every quarter.Such a shame that our shops can't compete.

+1, another happy Louis customer.

I use their Vanucci one piece suit for commuting. A fraction of the price of the BMW Coverall and it's actually waterpoof. Result!

Yep, Louis has a reputation of being higher quality than Polo. Having visited both stores in Germany, Polo is more for Squids / Harley riders, while Louis is more for touring minded riders.

I have a pair of trousers from them, excellent quality. My Polo jacket, while rather expensive, is not as nice or as well constructed..

mmmm i had the complete opposite experience, even employees in my local louis say polo has better quality clothing.

Been using Louis for years , I've had 2 Rukka jackets- one for me and one for my wife (saving £150 on each of them), I saved £200 on my Schuberth S1Pro , had 2 pairs of Daytona boots/ Held gloves and a Vanucci jacket etc all at significant savings .

I've had stuff both online and bought from their stores in Munich, Aachen and Berlin and their service has been second to none.

With the exchange rate at the minute and a 15% off voucher I got for this weekend I could buy a Rukka Armas for £763 if only I had the spare cash, cheapest local UK price is £1099.

If you buy from them or register online you get regular offers and discount vouchers

Ordered some maps and a jacket from Louis at 11.00 am on Tuesday, sent via DHL in Germany for onward delivery by Parcel Force in the UK.

Recieved this morning at 10am ,superb service as ever

Similar 100% happiness with Louis.de's service over the years. I can also recommend their route suggestions for jaunts and tours. See their website for details.

Just a word of warning , if ordering anything bulky from europe make sure if is the correct size because if you have to send it back the cost is very high.
Had to send a full Alpine textile suit back , cheapest way was £58

Louis.de is probably one of the biggest vendors of motorcycle gear on the Continent. They have a competitor (in Gemany) called Polo which used to specialize more in clothing. Impression was that there were some financial issues with this chain back in 2010/11 and changed hands. Anyway they are still around but apparently not as big as Louis.

Luckily Louis have updated their webshop so you can browse in English and French. They have a very strict policy on customer service; by that I mean if you have the receipt / proof of purchase and even months after purchase date are not happy they will fix or exchange it for you. German thoroughness.....
Flagship shop is in Hamburg - which is enormous and just 5 metres down the road from this ''Giga'' shop they have their outlet. All the old models, odd sizes, left overs in a large warehouse-like shop. Picked up a pair of Daytona boots - reduced from EURO 600 to 100 because of the size. Fine for me!
....and no I don't work for them or get commission just impressed by their whole attitude to service & quality and the choice is great

Only problem with Louis is that it was taken over a couple of years ago by a venture capitalist firm and they appear to be cutting down stocking levels and choice.

A mate is a supplier albeit on a small scale and his orders are a quarter of what they were a couple of years ago and his margins are being squeezed.

That said when the exchange rate is in our favour and there are sales you can get some brilliant deals ie my half price Armas a few years ago.

As well as the Hamburg discount store they have 2 in Stuttgart a giga store and an end of line shop about 1/2 mile up the road and in easy reach of the Autobahn
