Hi,

So, Im in the market for a low seat for a 1150GSA, and have come across KAHEDO ( http://www.kahedo.de). Does anyone have any opionions of these? I hear the OEM low seat is like a 2x4, and sargeants are popular (Heated as well ???), TTs obviously in abundance.

So what is every-one riding and what are your opinions (comfort, usability, dirt mud, rain, SWIMBO comfort etc)

Anyone?

I have just got one of their taller seats for an 1100, really well made and feels lots better than the original:thumb2

Kahedo manufacture the seats, bags and tank bags for both Touratech and Wunderlich.

I had my seat re-sculptured by a local upholstery shop (Williams of West Runton. www.williamsofwestrunton.co.uk ).

One of the partners is a biker, so knows what is required. He removed the original cover, and basically narrowed the seat, for when I put my feet down. The seat is standard where I sit, so is no less comfortable than the original. He then put the original cover back on, so it looks standard.

He kept taking little bits out, then I tried it. Then he took more out. Tried it again, and so on.

Less than 1 hr later, I had a standard looking, COMFY seat, that allows me to get my feet on the floor. It cost a LOT less than a new seat. He has recovered several seats for me in the past, including a Yellow & Black tiger stripe seat for my Bandit 600.

You could try any local upholsterer.

I'm looking to sell mine!!! it's for a 1200GS though, so don't know if it'd fit an 1150GS?

I have used a Kahedo seat for some time on my 2008 GSA1200. I would say they are much firmer than the original, but give you that bit extra to get your feet down. If it where at all possible I would keep the original seat, but the low version of the Kahedo just gives you that bit more confidence when getting your feet down. Comfort wise they are a bit firm, overall the standard seat is more comfortable.

I would most definitely second this. Why buy a seat that may or just as likely may not suit you. when you can have your original seat remodelled to suit you absolutely perfectly?? for a£100 +/-

Plenty of Bike seat upholsterers who are experts in doing this. They will use a far higher quality foam that can be thinner but be far more comfortable.. and whats more you can have the original cover (as mentioned) or opt for something thats totally unique.
