Has anyone fitted lower bars on the R1200GS? For me the bars are way to wide and high...
I'd like to fit another set of bars, preferably without a crossbar, something like Renthal Fat Bars would be ince...

Anyone know how the heated grips etc will fit onto a new set of bars? I'd like to retain all features from the standard bars, but I want the bars to be lower, slightly more forward and a bit narrower.

Any help appreciated! :beerjug:

Have you tried rotating the standard bars to move them forward, it looks like that might help a bit. I would also like the bars lower and more forward to give a slightly less upright riding position although I'm happy with the width.

I wanted my bars higher, so I loosened the clamps and rotated them forwards a bit.

Of course then all the mirrors and controls were in the wrong place. Rotating the mirror clamps is easy but I haven't delved deep into the control clusters yet, does anyone know if these are "keyed" to the bars, in other words can they be rotated without drilling extra holes etc?

Sorry for the semi-hijack.

Gents,

I don't think rotating is the answer, especially as I also want narrower bars..

Ideally I'd want the bars, perhaps, maybe, circa, about 1 inch lower and 1 inch forward... and 1 inch off each side...

or something... Having my arms that high and wide means I constantly get flashbacks from riding the Triumph Bonneville America... And that's not a "Good Thing" ;) :D
