Now my 1200 has gone, I am taking delivery of a 1150ADV next week with a low seat. However I am still on tip toes and thinking of relacing the shocks for standard 1150 items. Has anyone experiance of doing this or would like to comment ?

Search

Hi Harry,

I just did a basic search (top right corner) and came up with 3 pages for reading. Maybe you should try Lower Adv or Shorter shocks etc.

On the other hand get on the phone to Sherlocks motorbins, they may swap you a set .

Or another option, but an ad in Sales and Wanted section.

Or another option would be to buy ohlins at £850.00!!(not sure how rich you are but my preferred option if I had the dosh)

Cheers, Nick

Harry,

Is it the front, the rear or both ends you want to lower?
I changed on my adv the bottom yoke for the R1150R one which is flat and lowers the front about 15-20mm. This does wonders to the steering geometry, the bike turns like a supermoto, it is exactly the mod done on the R1200gs. Also by doing this the rear becomes less stressed and feels stiffer.
Just a thought...

Rob Farmer is selling a brand new 1150 standard shock in "The For Sale " section.
