Has anybody changed out the shocks so that they can lower the GS? I am short and would like to lower GS so I do not have to tippy-toe so much. I already have the lower seat, but think since I have not that heavy and mostly ride streets, then I could lower the GS without affecting the handling too much.

If you did, how did you do it? Which shocks did you use.

Thank you.

RT cast alloy wheels will lower the front by an inch and if you do mostly road work, you will have a greater choice of tyres.
I have just lowered my ADV by fitting cast wheels and standard GS shocks, I also had my seat altered a bit.

One of our customers had his R1200GS lowered with the installation of Ohlin's units front and rear.

I seem to remember the ride in, ride out cost to be about £1,000!

He was most pleased with the results.

Download the Wunderlich Catalogue from the SPC site you will see that Wunderlich are now distributing Wilbers Suspension. Wilbers do a 50mm lowering kit for the 1200GS. Don't know the price though, would be interested to know.
