So my bike arrives week comm 21st August (on order since April) and I'll have a few days while it sits waiting for the new registration.

Having ridden one with the original seat and one from a standard 12GS I much preferred the lower height given by the standard GS seat (30" leg, but its those downhill pointing stops that made me nervous). However it obviously doesn't match and doesn't align in quite the same way as the original one.
So I'm thinking about having some of the padding removed from seat whilst the bike sits waiting for registration.

Anyone done this?
cost?
recommendations? (somewhere near Leeds/Bradford would be good)
has it lost/gained comfort?
is there a recommended way of doing it? (like adding some gel at the same time)
best just to get a standard seat after all and keep the original for resale time?
photos?

Thanks in anticipation

Dave

I got my 1200 low seat modified to suit GSA by Tony Archer in Huddersfield

Tony Archer, Unit 7D Riverside works, Bradley Mills Road, Huddersfield HD1 6PQ Huddersfield. (01484 536 832)

as per pic in link below

does a good job at a resonable price
