Just a quick Q, reading my Haynes GS book I notice in the serviceing section they refer to lubing cables at each service. I always thought they were nylon(?) lined and needed no attention. At least I haven't given them any in 3 years.
Any views welcome.

Seasons greeting by the way.

Thankfully the clutch cable comes lubed for life ;)

I'm pretty sure the throttle cables are teflon lined and don't need lubing. anyone confirm?

I would guess they mean the linkages at the top and bottom of the cables.. rather than the cables themselves. Certainly thats the case on my old tractor which is completely 'cabled' - apart from the brakes.

never oiled the cables.. no need to. (in 12 years of ownership)

aren't most modern cables lined with ptfe?
