hi looking for suggestions on luggage/top box for a GS. I've seen the aluminium Givi trekker outback, and like the looks of them, what's people opinions. I'm after 2nd hand set as tbh I can't afford to spend on new at moment, so if anyone is selling a set or at least top box with the Givi plate please let me know.

many thanks

There’s some great deals in the for sale section at the moment. If none of them take your fancy I’ll be listing a full Vario set for sale soon as well

I went from the standard BMW top box (36 ltrs if I remember) where I could just about get my helmet in and thats it, to a Givi DLM 46 Trekker Dolomiti and absolutely love it.

What grips my shit if you use any other top box you need to change the carry plate and the Givi one is ridiculously expensive for what it is. They do come up second hand in the for sale section so worth grabbing if you see one.

Had a set of Trekker Outback panniers on a Crosstourer, they’re good boxes, the single lock to open them and attach them to the frames works well, it’s a good system, you can also get quick detach frames which is good for aesthetics when you’re not using the panniers

I do prefer the touratech Evo boxes that I have now but they don’t do qd frames

As for top box, I’ve been using a trekker 52 plastic box for the last 3 or 4 bikes, it holds 2 lids but isn’t too big

Varios are pretty wank. Genuinely rubbish to use but they look nice.

Get some second hand BMW adventure panniers and frames. They are great. You should be able to pick them up second hand with the frames and foot peg kit, all in for £600 or even £500 if you’re able to find a good deal.

They are the best panniers I’ve used for a GS1250.

I have a 58L Givi Trekker, after previously having a V46 box (which is now enjoying itself with another gentleman from here).
Both use the monokey system and I am a fan of their boxes.

This current advert is worth a look (you will need the correct adaptor plate)

That one’s sold (just not closed the thread)
