Lumpy acceleration on '07 1200GSA

Had a secondary sparkplug coil pack up on my previous GS. That gave severe hesitation on full throttle, but you wouldn't call it a flatspot.

Hope you get it sorted. Be sure to tell us what it was :thumb2

Think I just got me a case of dodgy secondary coil issues as well on my 06 GSA. Misses under load, (or fails under severe load) just started on the way to Bahnstormers to get a trade-in valuation done ... hardly a worse time.

Seems to be fixed

The dealer had it back today as it was really starting to bug me.
I briefed the chap and suggested the sort of test ride they should do to get the symptom's then went to work on a loan FS650.
They called me a few hrs later and told me that a 35m test ride had re-produced the problem but they had no idea what the cause was and they may need it for a few days... then called me at 3 to say they had swapped the coils, plugs and s/w upgrade and now seems ok.
I have done 25m and it seems ok but really need a longer trip to be sure, it seems to pull much better and without the hesitation, so fingers crossed it sorted - nice one wolly :thumb2

Please do keep us updated - good luck.

07 gsa lumpy running.

Hi
I have noticed that under hard (ish) acceleration the engine is quite lumpy with numerous flat spots.
For example, cruising at 90mph then crack the throttle open, it pulls -then hesitates, then pulls some more and it does this quite a lot.
The bike is standard everything.

Is this common, or do I need to be talking to my local BMW dealer to get some warranty work done?

Just bought an 07 gsa, purchased from Devon, now here in Hampshire, local dealer asked me if it had the re-map update as some of them can run a bit lumpy and suffer a flat spot---its booked in for tomorow., no cost to me,regards.
