I had Michelle Gatting (LM GT3 #85) in my office once.

Now she dates Jules Gounon (Hypercar #36).

17:05 and The Eagle has landed. All good, except for a bit slow through Evreux.



The rain at some points was biblical, but the roads dried very quickly.

Day three

08:00 Ligier European Series free practice for 45 minutes

09:15 Ligier European Series qualifying for 20 minutes

10:00 Free practice 1 for three hours

14:00 Ligier European Series race for one hour

15:30 Free practice 2 for three hours

I’ll probably head on down to Arnarge / Indianapolis for 10:00’ish, taking a packed lunch, I think.

Radio Le Mans, is booming out. Excellent coverage, not just of Le Mans, but lots of endurance racing.

The Penske Cadillac prototype cars make a great noise as thery accelerates out of Indianapolis to hurtle down the spint to the right angle of Arnage corner. The Aston Martin V12’s too, but a very different noise.

The oddity is the small Porsche GT cars. These used to be painfully loud but are now ‘quiet’…. It’s relative though.

The new idea of illuminating the cars’ side panels, to show their position in the race is a great development. Before, only the top three leaders in each class were identified by one, two or three lights on the side. I do though miss the Saleens, with their laser beams shining out at night

Shopping and fuel at the very good Super U outside Arnage. Being France, it shuts at 12:30 on Monday and all day on Sunday.

I have borrowed my host’s bicycle, so it up to the cafe at Arnarge for lunch.

Look good to me though, even if is a non veggie. Careful how you go on that bicycle after a few of them Affligem jobies.

Why ?
Looks very nice. Had a salad for lunch .
A lettuce leaf , a few nuts and a pile of quinoa does not make a salad, but Wapping’s looks lovely .

Day five

My Ninja Woodfire BBQ smoker thing, stopped rather suddenly yesterday evening. My first task will be to buy a fuse for my extension lead and / or a long French extension lead. Then, I think a drive up to the north of the circuit’s main entrance and a wander around the ‘Fan Zone’ to see what’s what.
