Hi all

Anybody seen the cameras on the bridges today? All forward facing on tripods. Seen on the M4 between M32 and M5 and then on the M5 until Micheal wood services.

Any ideas what they are for?

Probably ANPR if they're in that sort of concentration.

Mind you, West Mercia had FIVE unmarked cars on the M6 toll on Saturday running speed checks in conjunction with bridge cameras.

At least, I assume it was speed checks...

Saw some being installed on the A38 nr J16 M5, judging by the van nearby and the noddy on an overbridge J17-18 I'm guessing traffic sensus for the congestion. Another half baked money wasting scheme by someone wanting promotion. IMHO.

Ye caught the end of a news item on P west think they are spending our money on traffic survey highways are thinking about making m4/m5 8 yes eight lanes !!!!!!!!

I wonder if they will put a bike lane in..........................blow it.....just use lane 8! I tell you what...Gordano rugby club will be p....d....they have just spent a fortune on trying to get a flat pitch which has ended up a bit close to lane 1 or 2 I would guess. Watch out for the sliced kicks from a hooky fly half.

What is the point of eight lanes when most of the twats sit in the one lane in the middle anyway :blast

How much is all this costing? As uncle Ricky suggested, do away with lane 1 and have another lane 2, twice as many will use the two middle lanes then! :blast Or make caravans only legal on the motorway between the hours of 02:00 and 05:00 of course you could just blow up all the Caravans like Top Gear suggest :thumb
