Exploring a number of options ...... looking at a s/hand Macbook with a smallish internal 60Gb HDD running OSX 10.5. I already have a Lacie external 80Gb Firewire drive used with an earlier G4 powermac. I'd like to run the Macbook's drive with its OSX 10.5 system + hook up the Lacie external drive with Windows Vista installed (have copy of restore discs). I'm thinking this should be possible - am I missing something? - any advice or pointers from you knowledgable Techie Tossers appreciated.

You'll either need parallels or boot camp to be able to run windows. Certainly should be fine to do so off an external drive.

all i can tell you is that i have run XP from a USB flash drive under Fusion.

works ok, but is faster if Windows is on the internal HDD. currently using an nLite, stripped down version (7.7GB fully patched SP3 + mapsource, CN v.10).

also windows 7 beta, but pretty bare @ 6.61GB.
