Machine Art Rocker Protectors - Cracked Up!

Hi Folks

Sounds like a bitch but its more of a heads up.

I fitted a set of MachineArt rocker protectors to my R1200GS around 18 months ago. They were fitted correctly and look to have been refitted correctly at service etc, but still both sides (near and far side) have cracked at the lugs where bolted to the heads.

On both protectors there is now only 1 fixing and they are also cracked. Looks like heat fatigue to me as it seems really brittle around that area of the fitting.

Cant remember if I got them from Nippy - so wont be pursuing a refund - but thought others might like to know of my outcome. Guess I'll look for a set of BMW ali ones

Would snap like a carrot in a less than minor off.

If they only lasted 18 months, they are 'not fit for purpose.' if you havnt damaged them.
Shouldnt take a lot of investigation to find out where they came from.

I usually keep the documents for all my bits but for some reason that one is missing and I see that NN is doing them now but perhaps wasn't then. Not fair to point at NN unless I can prove I got em from him as he's done me great service in the past.

Might email Norman and let him know as he's likely to get a lot of returns based on this experience.
