Just looked at fitting new MachineArt Hand Guards to my 2019 GS and note that the OEM inner hand guard bracket is also the mirror riser.

Can anyone advise how they dealt with this? Leave the partly redundant OEM bracket in place or replace it with a straight riser - or some other solution?

Thanks in advance guys.

Is it not just a cover that slides over the mirror riser that is a moulded part of the own guard, so when you remove the OEM guards, the mirror riser is still there. That’s how it is on my 2018 GSA and I can’t see them changing it on the 1250

as above!

So, here's a couple of photos to illustrate the situation. You can see the mirror riser also incorporates a support bracket for the OEM hand guard. When the OEM hand guard is removed and the MachineArts installed it seems there will be a redundant bracket left in place.

Am I missing something?

Pull the boot up off the mirror

Remove the mirror

Pop the hand guard off, it’s only fitted over the mirror riser, trust me, I’ve had my MA hand guards on two GSA’s now

The bit you are identifying as a bracket (correctly) is only pressed over the mirror riser.

Have at it man
