MachineArt X-Heads R1250

Now I know a lot of things are based on opinions, but its my bike and in my opinion it looks massively better now ive got rid of the climbing frames for X-Heads.
Nearly a 5kg saving as well

You'll soon get the 'experts' say that they're available from Alibaba for a tenth of the price and Machineart Moto are ripping bikermates off - all comes from the same factory etc...

A full 5kgs , I really can’t believe you got the scales out for that . It makes no difference ffs

Very helpful thread this. Many thanks - I have just ordered some based on the views expressed.

He made a good point of not showing the inside of the X-Head.

Its a rubber cushion , so no marks . but he only dropped the bike , as you would perhaps on the drive , not on the road . With the crash bars as well its like a party with good company , it works as a union , on its own a fashion item. I know as I have seen the difference . But as an addition to the bars an extra that will work well .

Bars also snap engine casings and wreck frames, if a bike takes a decent hit its going to break something.

If you hit something hard enough to make crash bars damage engine and frames then all bets are off anyway. I have the BMW head guards and TT bars, belt and braces.
Don't care about the weight is a GS, it's like putting bull bars on a Jeep.

Just a heads up, if you fit these and have touratech bars you might need to order the spacers for the bars. You may get away without them, but on mine on one side the bars touched the x-heads.

No mate I had BMW oe bars on then bought the x-heads fitted them and decided to leave the bars off because I prefer the look and it’s easier and less nerve racking pushing it past my M4 in the garage

Agree with that , also with the bars on it stops it looking like an RS , more like a GS should look IMHO of course.
