.......................................................but it did!

Today I installed a Magnum horn to my 09GS. I piggy backed the wires using the blue connectors to the original wires to the BMW horn.

I knew that would work, but this time I did not disconnect the original horn.

Surprisingly the canbus did not cut in :nenau and the low Magnum and high original horn combined make a hell of a noise! :shout

Hope this helps someone.

Has your bike got ESA? I'm just wondering where you managed to squeeze a Magnum onto the bike, if it does. :nenau

I fitted a Magnum to a GSA with ESA last year. The horn went on the right hand side (as you sit on the bike) where the cut out in the petrol tank is....some people use this space to store an oil bottle. I think it's something to do with an emissions canister for the US market.

This thread should help:-

Today I fitted it to a standard GS with ESA. I placed it behind the right hand side panel (again as you sit on the bike). Behind that is a small bracket that holds a brake line to the frame. I put the horn mounting bracket behind the brake pipe mounting bracket. There is plenty of clearance.

If I get time in the next couple of days, I'll post a picture.

I had a bolt that secured the horn bracket securely to the side of the tank where the charcoal filter is fitted, (US only).

Just a note of caution make sure to check it with the steering on right hand full lock so you know it's ok before riding it :rob

I moulded the bracket to push the horn in as tight as possible and it is clear on full lock thanks. :)
