Main bulb keeps blowing (1150GS}

Hi. I picked up my GS recently. The high and main beam bulbs were both blown. I fitted some Osram Ultra Life in the hope of getting some longevity.

I've just headed to the garage to tinker and spotted that the main beam bulb has blown in what must be no more than 200 miles. Any thoughts on what might be causing this please? Thanks

loose bodywork ? vibration , or poor connections?

Check the charging voltage. Should be no more than 14.5 volts.

Check the earth connection(s), blown bulbs are very often down to bad earths.

Fit new plastic caps & wiring to the back of headlight body
£20 ish from a BMW main dealer

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to have a look in more detail...

The push on spade terminals should be a FIRM fit and not loose

and the terminals in the plug that plugs into the big round outer cap should be clean and a snug connection not jiggling

Paul is right but with these it's "usually" the spades that jiggle around

Did you touch the glass when fitting them?

I took the bulb out and thought it didn't look blown. I put everything back together and it now works! So it looks like it could be a connection issue. The spades were tight so I'm wondering if it might be the connector which is a little wobbly (but I don't know if they have a bit of play from new)?

PS I was very careful not to touch the bulbs.

Update. I've tracked the problem down to a dodgy wire behind the headlight. Thanks for the suggestions.
