Just wondering is there something worng with my lights or is it normal.

Did the HID upgrade on my light but when I'm driving along the light is bouncing up and down. I'm sure it vibes or something thats making the bulb move. But I didn't notice it with the OEM bulbs (maybe that's cos they were crap).

So is it nothing or do they need to be tightened somehow?

Have you fitted the retaining spring correctly? Or maybe its not twisted all the way into its mount?

Or there is a possibility the light housing has come off its mount.

What bike, what HID kit?

hmm

the light will bounce a little due to the movement of the suspension and will be more noticeable as you have a higher-powered candle to see with. If is excessive then check the bulb is seated properly and that the headlamp unit is secure.

it's an 1150GSA with one of Les kits.

I'd understand the light moving with the suspension but this could jump up and down and couple of times a second.

Could also be from my lowering the beam too much to avoid blinding drivers.

+1 on this - mine was a right ba****d to refit! Skinned knuckles, much cursing and gnashing of teeth ... :forry :forry !

Seems odd to be jumping around that much - yes, you notice the movement alot more because of the better light, but still.

Good luck :thumb

+1 on that. I've just fitted mine. I have the H7's and they are seated correctly. The old halogens did it too but it's more noticeable with the HID's. I still might do a bit of tweaking to see if I can reduce the effect. :thumb2

my 1150 light doesnt move a smidge, I would take off the plastic cover and give the bulb a wiggle, if it moves then you probably dont have the retaining clip on properly. Its a tight and arkward fit and get ready for loosing a little skin if you slip. ;)

Have you clicked the plastic ball connection back in (adjuster) ? . I`m assuming that you undid it to take the lights out for the install. Its part no. 14 on the diagram below. Just a guess mate.

Another thing that I have noticed after just trying to adjust mine ... if you raise them too high then the adjuster (under the clocks) seems to run out of 'screw' and then the headlight housing goes all loose ... do you follow? I think that you have to ensure that the adjuster has some 'bite' on the screw.

Another thing is that there is a screw at the FRONT of the headlight housing that you can also use to raise / lower the headlight - there's another one for raising / lowering the main beam, too. Is this screw also 'biting' the thread? If it has come loose then it may also need tightening a smidgen?

Just another thought ... :nenau
