Need some advice. I have the bike in bits engine out etc. the main stand is worn out so ordered a new one. It arrived but seems to be from a mystic. The Legs are not parallel and it's shorter than the one I took off. Still at £25 worth a punt. So then I splashed out the full price for a new one from Motorworks. Measured next to the original still shorter. In desperation went to the local Beemer dealer who ordered the two part numbers listed from my bike (wobble box 80GS). Both arrived and both are too short. In the meantime, rang motorworks and asked them to measure what they had to see if they had one the same as mine. They sent me a second hand one but frankly it's in worse condition than mine as the mounting holes are shagged but it is the right height. Motorworks measured all they had in stock and this was the only one that was the same size, Beemer could not explain why mine is taller than the two they ordered. It is definitely the original and has not been modified. Anyone got any ideas ? I don't want to put it in find the wheels are not clear of the deck on the stand. Plus I will have to take the engine out again to change the stand. The original measured with on the ground as it would be on the bike, to the centre of the mounting holes it's around 305 mm the others are around 2cm shorter

If the original centre stand is worn out (oval holes?) why not have them built up with weld then ground out to the correct diameter. Alternatively bore the holes oversize and get bronze bushes turn up to suit?

It's a para lever. Thought about the rebuild idea but couldn't find anyone to take the job on. I figured that as it was the original a new one would last the next 18 years or so that the original lasted. Don't get why either bmw, motorworks or motobins could supply one the same as the original. The two part numbers listed in the parts list both don't seem the same.

I bought this one for my paralever and it's the correct one, same size as came off

That's the one I bought from moto bins. It fits but it's too short and mine had the non parallel legs. Mine was for the Mystic I guess? Anyway, cracked on today. Got the engine block in,gearbox and swingingarm. Back on its wheels after 7 months. Hopefully engine top end will be back on by the end of Easter and we will see if the machining to match the 800 heads to the seinbenrock kit works!
