Maison Laudeire - Normandy

Thanks for that Dave :beerjug:

Funnily enough I have actually started using TA myself when looking for places to stay and I had never heard of it until 3 years ago!

Hope all going OK in the IOM

All good up here! Would have been planning a visit this year but British Lions in Aus has proved too much of a draw. All other hols therefore cancelled for the time being.

Cheers Dean great to see you both again.

you just missed a 9 off that road! D999 and the D911 great roads and a bit of good weather.

Dave sounds like that will be a great trip and worth passing up some bike time for!!

Just a bump for another great weekend at Nigel & Carols :thumb2

Lovely breakfast, hot fresh croissants/bread & tea/coffee on tap, freshly delivered by Carol in the morning, followed by a nice run back to the ferry.

Perfect weekend away to blow the cobwebs out

Hi Jon. Thanks for that and sorry I missed you this trip. Pita having to be in England for a few weeks but has to be done and Carole is the boss anyway!

Good to hear you had a decent sunny run back too.

Just had a great night here. Great location, met with a cold beer and stand puck! Lovely accommodation, super breakfast and a lift in to town and back for dinner, where recommended restaurant was perfect.

Made to feel really welcome, thank you Carole

Chris

Hi Chris thanks for the comments and sorry I did not meet you this trip.

Bagnoles is a lovely town and maybe next time you will get to win some money in the Casino! :D

Have a great rest of your trip and hope to maybe meet with you sometime.

:beerjug: Nige and Carole

Great to stay again on our return journey and to meet you Nige. Still didn't get to the Casino but another wonderful meal in Bagnoles; whole area was a real treat. Followed the route north as you suggested which was great fun and lunch in Honfleur. Made the quick dash up the autoroute quite acceptable for a change!

Sure we will see you again soon.

Best wishes

Chris

Good to hear you enjoyed honfleur and the route up. Good to meet you and Ian too.

I am back in England again had to get some bits sorted so was only in France 4 days before leaving again! Will be home next week.

Have fun.

Well, another trip to Carole & Nige, we're back in August as a family but my last night of the European Jaunt was a nice comfortable stay at Maison Laudiere. A nice home cooked meal and good company refreshed me for the journey home.

Thanks you guys and good to meet Chris & Ian on their trip as well.

Great to see you again Steve and hear about trip. That was a fair old ride you did!

I popped back across to England just after you left for a week. First ride using the system 6! Only thing was no rain so still not sure if mine is a leaker! Will keep you posted.

Look forward to seeing you all in August.

Take it steady.

Cheers Nige and Carole :beerjug:

Just to say a big thanks to Carole for looking after us so well during our recent stay at Maison Laudiere, Nigel was on his jollies with his mates, so we didn't see him this year

Excellent cooking and hospitality from Carole as usual and she even did some laundry for me, spot on!

We met some good characters and guests while we were there, it all adds up to a great experience

If you haven't had the pleasure of staying here and the superb roads that surround it, then it's about time you did, it's great

Weather was not good during our stay and on several occasions everyone's gear was left in the lounge/diner to dry out overnight

General tip for France..........make sure you find a restaurant/bistro before 2pm, everywhere shuts but once you get used to it, or get yourself a picnic from Le Clerq then it's OK!

Thanks again

Geoff and Margaret

Cheers Geoff.

Sorry I missed you both this time. I think we both had the same weather even though I was in Spain. Managed to get to the heady heights of 16 degrees one day and every day we had our waterproofs on for part of the day!

Carole says hi and we still have the wood burner on!

Am sure we will catch up with you sometime this year.

Regards

Nige and Carole :beerjug:

Thanks Guys

Big thanks to Nigel & Carole for their excellent hospitality and wonderful accommodation, even if I didn't get the king sized bed !

Sally details like personally located pucks, a hand reversing, drinks on arrival and route assistance seem to be di rigeur at Nigel and Carole's.

Both myself and James enjoyed our trip, the roads around the area and food were excellent.

We particularly enjoyed the locals entertaining us with their special parking techniques at Bagnoles-de-l'Orne.

After a small medical emergency (not us) the boat left 30 minutes late but arrived in Portsmouth only a few minutes later than scheduled.

If anyone is in any doubt as to the standard of Maison Laudiere I hope this goes some way to convincing you it's a great place with great hosts.

Steve

Photos

Nigel,

I'd b grateful for the photos you took just before we left this morning.

Thanks
Steve

Good to meet you both

Hi Steve

Glad you both enjoyed your stay and the locals managed to keep up the image for their parking skills, it was entertaining!!:D

There are plenty more great roads/sites but glad you managed to take in the D999 and 911 on your way back from seeing the Tour!

I will email you the pictures, James has a particularly interesting pose that looks familiar but I can't put my finger on where I have seen it before, maybe something out of Jeeves and Wooster.

Sorry to hear you had a slight delay, you didn't clonk someone with those panniers did you??

All the best

Nige and Carole :beerjug:

Well, just spent another week with Nigel & Carol at Maison Laudeire, felt tootally chilled by the time we got back....

Anyone visited the lake at La Ferte Mace? we spent a couple of days down there and if your looking for a beach with a bit of swimming etc its just the place!

Thanks again guys!

Cheers Steve good to see you all again.

You certainly enjoyed some hot hot weather and it is still holding up!

As you say the lake is a great place to chill and great for the kids too. :Motomartin

Take it steady

Many thanks Nigel @Carole for a warm welcome again.Would have liked more time but it did me the power of good.
The room was immaculate as ever, you must paint it every month:thumb2.
We stopped off at the Gorge, stunning view. 118 metre drop and not a guard rail in sight.
Proper H & S.
See you next year i am sure.
Ric.

Hi Ric. Was great to see you and Mark again.

Glad you enjoyed your stay and your visit to the Roche. As you say in England they would have a 15m cordon before you got to the cliff edge!

Look forward to seeing you again next year.

Take care.

Regards

Nige and Carole :beerjug:

Yet Again

The gods were smiling and due to a last minute cancellation Carole & Nigel were able to accommodate our party of 6 with the hospitality we have now begun to expect. And yet again we weren't disappointed.

Fab hosts
Fab food
Fab stay

Many thanks Carole & Nigel for yet another memorable stay.
