FYI , if you wish max power , use a 5 amp Makita battery
FWIW, yesterday my Makita DTW285Z LXT, ( different model from this thread ) , failed to remove the cross brace on Discovery Sport
(Described as necessary to remove the ridiculously complex battery , but succeeded despite the inability )
