This guy set out on a new Indian Pursuit and rode up to 1500 miles a day for 145 days. The bike ran faultless for the duration and the only maintenance was oil changes and tyres. Impressive feat of endurance for both man and machine.

Lots of videos out there if you do search documenting the journey but the synopsis is as below:

"Old Man" Pat Cornell rode an Indian Pursuit motorcycle for 145,000 miles in 145 days to raise awareness and funds for Myotonic Dystrophy (DM), a rare genetic muscle disorder. Cornell, a U.S. Navy veteran and retired firefighter, completed this remarkable journey in 2025 on a 2025 Indian Pursuit with the PowerPlus 112 engine, pushing his body and the bike to its limits.

The Journey
  • The Cause:
Cornell's ride was inspired by Myotonic Dystrophy, a debilitating genetic disease that runs in his wife's family and impacts muscle function.

  • The Goal:
He aimed to ride 1,000 miles a day for 125 consecutive days, eventually exceeding this goal to 145,000 miles in 145 days.

  • Challenges:
Despite suffering a broken collarbone, a torn rotator cuff, and a cracked rim on Day 73, Cornell continued his ride through the pain to meet his objectives.

  • Bike Modifications:
The Indian Pursuit was fitted with extra fuel tanks to avoid frequent stops, along with systems for navigation, hydration, and cooling.

I saw this mid last month and copied Doc for motivation 🤣🤣. I understand he also had a new stator and I read about it early 90,000) on and he firing through tyres at an amazing rate plus six new wheel rims !

1500 miles in one day at 60 mph is 25 hours . He must have been going some . 🤷‍♂️😳🤔

I’d say BS 😀😂

I don’t believe it is possible ! Especially on normal roads, maybe on a dedicated race circuit, but public roads never.

Look at some of the videos or vlogs of the trip and you will see how it was done. If you’ve ever ridden in the USA you will know it’s literally possible to ride for 100s of miles in a straight line and potentially not even see another vehicle.

He did have a few days off after day 73 as he got knocked off the bike into a ditch, breaking his collarbone, tearing his rotator cuff and cracking a rib, hence why he went on to do 145 days to make up for it.

Someone linked a video to that story on here not so long ago.Quite amazing if true

Just realised there is already a thread ref this started by Zoltan, perhaps a mod can merge them?

If he had days off then by definition he didn’t do it. Although I think he didn’t do it anyway without and accident. No chance.

Always someone who puts a downer on things eh Frank.
I've been following and would say he did it.

It’s not a downer it’s just not really possible even average 50mph is 20 hours riding non stop, no comfort breaks, no food, no petrol, no changing tyres, no servicing of the bike, no traffic holdups, day after day after day. It’s hard work for one day but very doable but not 145 days straight.

That's fair enough pal.

That’s an average of 42mph for the whole trip with no stopping and no sleeping ! Plus fueling , servicing , tyre changing . Nah
